If the Chinese has the Petaling Street for fake goods sourced from China, the Indian has the Little India in Brickfields as the place to go for religious ornaments or saris for Deepavali.

The place is a riot of colors — saris and kurta, Pooja altars, shining Indian jewels and multicolored sweetmeats turns the street into a festival of sights and smell.

If you want to have a quick crash course of Indian culture, come here in early October. This time, the street will be crowded and colorful since it is in the weeks leading up to Deepavali.
